It depends on exactly how far you want to take this. If you're looking to do this as a hobby, and then learn as an amateur. Pick a pair manuals, participate in an online forum some, and find local car clubs. Buying a car from the key (preferably an older car national – that are less complex and cheaper to make mistakes) If you want to do this for a living, then there is nothing better to enroll in classes at the college automotive technician or a local vocational / technical school. Sometimes you have evening classes to help people who are trying to enter the field, while holding from another job. Best of all – find fellow heads team around him who are willing to help show the ropes. The car shows and car clubs locals are very good at finding like-minded people willing to share their experience. And finally, most importantly, you do not learn unless you try. Get your keys and start small – changing oil, fixing moldings and ornaments, and the like. Then go to work the brakes, then click alternators, power steering pumps – before you know it, you'll be willing to try his hand in rebuilding engines. Good luck!
